FULL Mouth dental implants
When do I need an implant supported denture?
For individuals with endentulous jaw who are wearing full dentures, they will feel a difference on convenience and improved quality of life with implant supported dentures. With dental implants retaining and locking their overdentures, prosthese do not slip and slide as easily allowing for better chewing, speaking and less embrassment.
Implant dentures is also well suited for individuals that may have severe posterior bone loss. Implant posts are therefore placed on the anterior area where there is normally sufficient bone. 2 to 4 dental implant posts with a locator is normally placed to hold a removable implant denture in place. The number of implants recommended by our implantologist varies with your bone, expected outcome and bite. Generally, lower jaws require a minimum of 2 implants to hold dentures. Whereas upper jaw usually take 4 implants to hold overdentures.
Implant supported dentures is also affordable as it does not require as many dental implants as full implant bridges. A minimum of 2 implants on lower jaw and 4 implants upper jaw can hold overdentures in place.
